Montbummery Really solid emoish thang. Progressive and expansive instrumentals with good mixing to make them shine. Vocals are just shy of that nasal pop-punk whine, only slipping into it to accent certain words. Listen to this when you were sad a couple days ago, but you’re actually pretty happy today even though you worked a double. RIYL: American Football, TTNG, Ghost House. Favorite track: Cavalier.

After writing and recording the first Lord Bendtner album (“Lord Bendtner,” Z Tapes, 2016) in an apartment in Vienna and the follow up while at university in the United States (“Life Answer,” Cheap Plastic Records, 2017), Nate Wagner joined forces with some of his very best friends to play Lord Bendtner shows up and down the East Coast (but mostly just in North Carolina). Along the way, the four-piece sat down to record “Ready to Leave,” the first Lord Bendtner album to feature a full band. “Ready to Leave” drops the synthesizers and bedroom stylings of previous Lord Bendtner albums in favor of an inventive 90s emo/shoegaze hybrid that turns on unorthodox melodies and the unique playing approaches of its members.
